PENSTEMON DAKOTA BURGUNDY
Latin Name: Penstemon digitalis 'Dakota Burgundy'
Description: This semi-evergreen beauty displays a compact, upright habit, showcasing clusters of stunning, bright baby-pink, tubular blossoms arranged horizontally on the stems. The flowers are long, large, adorned with darker pink throats, and are gently frilled at the openings, making them very attractive to bees, hummingbirds, and butterflies. The elegant flowers rise over dark purple stems clad with unique, lance-shaped, deep burgundy (almost black) foliage that contrasts fantastically with the vibrant blossoms. A truly stunning specimen, sure to "wow!" in any garden setting. Drought tolerant once established, deadhead spent flowers to encourage continuous blooming.
