Latin Name: Adenium obesum


Description: This gorgeous thick-stemmed succulent is sparsely leaved with a bulbous, thick bottom from whish arise thick, twisted grey-green stems, often leafless until the terminal ends, where a cluster of ovate to round grey-green leaves resides. Absolutely stunning, vibrant, medium sized bell-shaped flowers protrude from the stems, each which five ruffled lobes and five long, protruding stamens. They can be red, pink, or rose-coloured with white or pale yellow throats. Flowers typically appear in the summer months. Double flowering cultivars are available. 

Sap is poisonous. Entire plant is poisonous to dogs, cats and other animals.

Watering: Sparse. Water every month during summer months and less during the winter.

Growth Rate: Slow, 12 inches per year under ideal conditions.
Shape:  Upright
Sun or Shade: Full, indirect light
Difficulty level: Somewhat difficult, special needs
