HOYA WAYETII GREEN

$21.99

Latin Name: Hoya wayetii

Description: This interesting specimen is recognized for its elongated, elliptical leaves, decorated on the outer rims with deep red margins. The leaves are typically vertically curved, creating a cupping effect. This species is native to the Philippines, and is part of the dogbane family, along with periwinkle, mandevilla, and oleander. Although rare, when produced, flowers appear clustered on pendules, are star shaped, and very fragrant. They can appear in shades of red, pink, and white. A tropical vine, this species looks lovely as a hanging plant, or as a trailing plant on shelves or ledges. Give it a trellis and watch it climb!

Non-toxic to pets and humans. Contributes to improved air quality by filtering out certain toxins from the environment.

Watering: Water when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Overwatering can lead to root rot, so err on the side of caution.

Growth Rate: Fairly Slow
Shape:  Trailing, Climbing
Sun or Shade: Bright, indirect light
Difficulty level: Fairly Easy
