Latin Name: Penstemon barbatus 'Novapenpur'
Description: This variety of penstemon forms a compact, tidy clump of upright green stems clad in green, linear, lance-shaped foliage and topped with spikes of clustered downward-facing, bell-shaped, deep purple-fuchsia blooms with deeply lobed petals, white striped throats and upper 'teeth' tinged in white. Blooms heavily in the late spring, and reblooming in the summer if trimmed back after first blooms. A very heat and drought tolerant perennial, sure to give a fresh pop of colour to sunny flower beds.
